Santi Tuberculosis Control Society
Founded in 1981 started by providing health care to the TB affected patients in addition to others who suffered from other ailments through it’s general OPD. It is a well-recognised non -government organisation in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India. It has good relations with the govt. health system, Dept. of Social Welfare, the village Panchayat, local schools and people.
SAVE is supporting a project with the objectives of: 1. Providing treatment to the poor 2. Providing awareness on the disease, right diet and lifestyle to the patients 3. Sensitising rural health practitioners on the disease, treatment and referral matters
Implementation: Two one day orientation and sensitisation meetings will be held with local rural medical practitioners on diabetes, hypertension, COPD and other common ailments. Hand-outs on the above common diseases will be distributed among the common people and the patients attending the OPD. Patients will be clinically examined at the OPD, sent for necessary testing and treated. Generic medicines available at very low cost (50% to 60% less than branded) will be provided. A record of the patients will be maintained for periodic assessment. Deserving patients will be reimbursed the cost of investigations. Insert your content here
